Thank God for Jesus

Why do I do what I don’t want to do when I want to do what I’m not doing

Why do I keep what I don’t want to keep when what I don’t want to keep needs removing

Why do I feel what I don’t want to feel when what I do want to feel is so good

Why do I want what I don’t want to want when I don’t want to want what I should

Oh who will deliver me out of this raging sea

Who will deliver me from this evil body of death

How will I ever live the life I was born to live

There is one who will forgive, thank God for Jesus

Why do I toil, labor and spin when all of my needs are provided

Why do I worry, fret and worry again when all my journey is decided

Why do I seek what only withers away when heavenly treasure is eternal

Why do I speak and yet forget to pray when my words carry power for renewal

Oh who will deliver me out of this raging sea

Who will deliver me from this evil body of death

How will I ever live the life I was born to live

There is one who will forgive, thank God for Jesus

King of peace and righteousness have mercy on me as I confess

My dire need in every endeavor for Your great love made perfect forever

You are the way to live the life I was born to live

You’re the one who will forgive, Thank You Jesus

How else could I ever be all I was meant to be

Without the one who’s forgiven me

You have forgiven me
